The Answer

The Answer Xristozo From birth I often wondered What this life would bring Where does the road go? When I can’t see a thing? No thunder from heaven No angels that glow Only a heart that's longing To know more than I know OH God the feeling, I can't shake every moment I'm living, and I'm awake oh oh oh to see the answer To meet it face to face, like a lost friend But now I have discovered If I don't knock, the door stays closed If I never ask the question How could I ever know? It’s the questions I face The searching, keeps me awake Beyond all that my eyes can see Something calls me endlessly oh oh oh oh My longing is ancient as time itself As wide as the heavens, worth more than wealth It started a searching, I can't satisfy Till every thought is tested, like gold purified I'll seek for the answers, wherever it goes Through all that I question, through all that I know For somewhere beyond, what my eyes can see There lies the answer, waiting there for me I've stood beneath the stars And wondered why they're there I've measured what I can But answers aren't found there What makes a heart hunger? What teaches us to love? Why do we reach beyond ourselves For something more above? What if darkness hides the light? What if all these questions Are calling me tonight? What if this longing has a reason? What if this hunger can be fed? Than never know. I’d rather find it in an answer… Than just believe, what I am told
